Camp Cards

My little (ok, 16 & 13) chickies are off at camp this week, and I miss ’em!  I had to make these cards & send them up there so they don’t forget me 🙂

This first one is for my 13-year-old.  Her favorite color is green, and her camp team colors are orange and blue.  Hence the color combo.  I used a brayer to ink the landscape background.  (Thanks, Michelle Zindorf, for teaching me this technique, although I don’t do it justice.)

Blissful Bird on Brayered Background

Sets:  Blissful Bird, My Friend / Ink: Baja Breeze, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight / Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Whisper White / Tools & Accessories: Brayer, Bird Builder Punch, Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Stampin’ Sponges

The next card is for my 16-year-old.  Her camp team colors are nice & simple – blue & white – whew!  She loves collage and vintage images, so I knew this new “Clockworks” set was perfect for her!

Sets:  Clockworks & Trust God / Ink: Pacific Point / Cardstock:  Pacific Point & Whisper White / Tools & Accessories:  Decorative Label Punch, Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Stampin’ Dimensionals

And this last card is for an extra chickie – my sweet 9-year-old niece who’s also up at camp this week.  She is ALL girl – pink, purple, bling, frill, if it’s girlie it’s for her!  My photography skills leave a LOT to be desired, so you can’t see all the dimension in the flower.  It has 3 layers all separated by Stampin’ Dimensionals, and I curved up the leaves of the Melon Mambo layer with my bone folder.

Sets:  Mixed Bunch & Trust God / Ink: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzelberry, Daffodil Delight / Cardstock:  Melon Mambo, Rich Razzelberry, Whisper White / Tools & Accessories:  Blossom Punch, Decorative Label Punch, 3/4″ Circle Punch, Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Bone Folder, Sponge Dauber

So, those were my afternoon projects.  I hope the girls enjoy opening them up as much as I enjoyed creating them!

Inky Hugs,

  ~ Gail

Graduation Cap Gift Card Holders

Grad Caps from GailStamps

Check out these little cuties!  I received three high school graduation announcements in the past couple of weeks, so I put together these nice little hinged “caps” with a hidden pocket for a gift card or check.  Of course, I had to make them to match each graduate’s school colors!  Then I made a college version – Basic Black & Brushed Silver – to keep in my idea stash.  I “borrowed” the idea & pattern from a just-for-demonstrators publication Stampin’ Up! sends out called Stampin’ Success.  (That’s just one of the perks of being a demonstrator, by the way!)  I can send you the instructions and patterns if you’re interested – just shoot me an email.  That way you can make your own little caps for your own little grads!
